Over the past week, I have been attending a life guarding class. We have learned how to save people, how to give CPR, first aid, and how to stop emergencies from happening. The worst save we have to do is a
deep water spinal rescue. This is where a patron hits their head neck or back while diving, doing a flip, ect. There can be shallow water spinals, witch aren't nearly as bad. There is also distressed swimmer, who can call out for help, an active drowning victim, who is having trouble staying up in the water and is going to drown, and a passive drowning victim, who has their face in the water, and can't breath. To pass our test, we have to preform each of these in order to pass, including CPR, and some first aid. Wish me luck on my test!!
