16th

My Madre is so mean...she made me bake my own birthday cake! Thats what she says anyways. But she did the hardest part; the layering. The cake was a Texas Sheet cake, with raspberry black berry filling and butter cream coco frosting. I went to my grandma's place for the cake eating. She said it was wonderful.
The following day me Madre and I went to a friends house for dinner. Little did I know that there were two ice-cream cakes waiting for me. One was a reese's log cake, and the other a blue cookie dough cake. They were both yummy.

Thank you for the wonderful birthday!!

Nakhon Pathom

Nakhon Pathom?? What is that? Is it a type of food, or a flower? No, It is my new home. Nakhon Pathom is the city I will be staying in for a year of my life. It is really close to Bangkok, and I am nervous really excited to be that close to the capital. I am in an all wemon's rotary club, the RC of Prapathomchedi. Prapathomchedi is a temple in the city. The city is wonderful, and I am really excited to spend the next year of my life in the town. I am fairly close to the beach(YES!) and about 100 kilometers away from Bangkok. I will be attending the Nakhonpathom vocational college witch is about two blocks away from my house. I don't know who y family if, what they are like or anything. But I have my city, my school, my club, and my counselor. Thats more than some other students. Now I can get started on my language. Oh dear!!! Summer vacation is over! Time to cram in as much as I can.
The city with the temple. This temple is the
tallest in the world of its kind!

Thai cookies

On Sunday the 15, I went to a Rotary event, the final one for all inbounds. Us outbounds were not required to attend, but we were encuraged to. I decided to go, to say goodbye to my friends. If an outbound had decided to come, they were required to bring a desert from our country. The other two outbounds to Thailand were bringning sticky rice or cake. I wanted to do something easier, so I made cookies.
Before I cut them

After baking
They were supposed to be little flowers. They were a lot like short bread. The recipe also said that most of the cookies could be smoked. You put them in a bowl with a sented candle and let them get the flavor for a while. I didn't have enough time for that. My friends said that they were like the real thing. Lets hope they were telling the truth.

Dam Beavers Weekend!

This weekend was Dragon Boat races. Saturday's races were just to see who we were up against. Our races that day were not great at all. But on Sunday we stepped it up. Our first race of the day we were focused and we did a really great race. We still lost, but it was a good loss. I had fun this weekend, even if we didn't win.
Sunday's race. We are the furthest boat

District Conference

On Wednesday I left school at 11:30 to got to my Beaverton Rotary Club meeting. I then came home and packed for the Rotary district conference. I arrived at Willamette University in Salem at about 2:30. We had speech competitions. We had three rounds. I only did the first round. After dinner, the students who weren't in the second or third round of the speech competitions had free time. We soon went to bed. On Thursday we tried out for the talent show. I tried out with my other group from and going to Thailand. We sang the Thai national anthem. After lunch, the people in the talent show went to the Salem convention center and ran through it. We had dinner and Karaoke in the park, hosted by North West Natural. Got to meet Rotarians as well as dance and sing. On Friday The talent show people had a run through, went to lunch, and then did a dress rehearsal. We had dinner with Rotarians, did a flag ceremony, and half way through dinner, did the talent show. It was a ton of fun, and I'm glad I did it. On Saturday our percents come to pick us up and go through some preparation for us being gone. I had a ton of fun with all of the inbounds and outbounds. I am super sad that they will be gone and I won't get to see the inbounds, maybe ever again.

After I came home, I took a nap, and then went to a friends house. I was going to prom later that night, so she offered to do my makeup and hair. I had a good time, and here is the result:

Thank you!!
I also had a ton of fun with these lovely lades at the dance!!! Thank you so much!!!

New..

So, I started dragon boat practice on march 30th, and the team is looking great. Between the caller and the coach yelling at us and the radioactive murky river water splashes, I feel like this will be a great year. The timing need work(like it does every year) but the captains said that by the third day, it seemed like everyone had been doing it for one month. I have been moved up to the front bench a lot lately(thats a good thing, means my timing is good). One thing though, is that our after school practices are later at night, so it is dark. But, when I'm in the front bench, I get to wear a light.
I am also thinking of going to a swim practice for high schoolers after school two nights a week. It will be fun, and I have heard that not many people are doing it.
I am also thinking of changing the look of my blog..should I do it?

Asian Dinner

Last night I participated in an Asian dinner with my rotary group. Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Turkey and India were there. Thailand served green curry, fried chicken wings, and some shrimp soup. Everything was amazing, and I had a great time cooking it. We spent half an hour in the kitchen cleaning up. Then we played hide and seek and stayed up until 1:30. It was fun getting to know my fellow exchangers!!!
