Rants

When I say rants, I don't mean to get something off my chest. I mean it in a joking way.

Todays culture shock rant: Lady boys. Definition of a lady boy: 1) A man who is homosexual 2)A man who dresses up as a women.  This man can be both, or just one and still considered a lady boy. Now, I have seen some cross dressers on the US, but not as many in one setting as I have here. There have to be at least 20 cross dressers in my school, and even more homosexual people there. Don't get me wrong, I am fine with homosexuality. But I was very surprised to see so many lady boys. Some of them had me convinced, until I saw that they were wearing pants instead of a skirt at school.

I keep forgetting to post my schedule....so here it is:
On Monday, I have Fabric and dress from 8:30 until 10:30, Internet from 10:30 until 12:30, lunch for an hour, and Fabric and dress(again) from 1:30 to 4:30.
On Tuesday, I have Internet from 8:30 to 10:30, and Popular menu of Thai food for the rest of the day with a one hour break for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30. school that day ends at 3:30. I also have privet Thai lessons that day for 1 and a half hours too 2 hours.
On Wednesday, I have an hour before class to hang out, then at 9:30 I have Thai dessert until 4:30(with an hour for lunch, 12:30 to 1:30)
On Thursday, I have international Food from 8:30 to 12:30, lunch and then Baking from 1:30 to 4:30.
On Friday, I have fruit/vegitable carving from 8:30 to 12:30, lunch and then banana leaf folding from 1:30 to 4:30. and Thai lessons again.

The thing about Thai school, is you stay with one group for all of your classes, you can arrive late, and no one cares, and once you are done with your project, feel free to go home. That is my school anyways. Janiques school I have heard is much more strict.

I love my school, and my friends. Even if we can't communicate very well, they always ask if i want to go the the cafeteria with them, the help me with class, and involve me with things. So, I think I will have some good friends for my year.

Trip to the beach.....again

By the total you would think that photos of a sandy paradise and scantily clad girls would fall. Such is not this case. Instead, Janique and I went to a nature preserve and saw elephants. I tried to get a video of the second baby elephant we saw on our first day, and I thought I had got it, but by the time I was 'done' with my video, I realized I hadn't pushed record.

We got into the car with an ex exchange student and drove about 4 hours with her (P'Mok) and the driver P'Mruk. We got to the resort at about 1 o'clock. Then we went to the reserve owned by the king and took a tour. It started to rain. that was a tone of fun. The road was extremely bumpy. I'm pretty sure the pick up we were in didn't have shocks.

That night we went to a beach for a party with P'Mok's dads company, but we couldn't go swimming. :/

A Thai Giant. And yes, it is a women.

Those are boats
The next morning we packed to get ready to plant trees in the elephant reserve.

WE GOT THEM TO SMILE!!!!!
We had a small lunch and the headed back home. While we were gone, all of Nakon Pathom got 10 cm of rain. So....It flooded. Thank goodness our room is on the third floor!!

Week two

I went to school for the first time this week. That was interesting. I made leaves out of cucumbers. I made a swan out of an apple. I made lots of food(eclairs, cookies, curry seafood). I also went to my club's 26th birthday party. The theme was international. We are going to the beach on the 26th.

I Forgot......

I have now decided that every time blog I will rant about something.  Today's topic: Thai driving. There are two rules: 1. If you think you can make it, then go for it, 2. If you get in a crash, be responsible for your actions. The second day I was so scared. And, they look at you weird if you put on a seat belt. But I have never seen a crash, so I guess I'm safe.

A little bit of rest.

About a week ago I flew into Thailand. I was greater with smiles and happiness. I was so excited. I was a bit overwhelmed, but not too much. I met a boy named brandon. He is going to a different district, but he was still cool. I hadn't met anyone going to my districts, so I was a bit sad. I slept so well that night. I met my little brother the next day, EQ. He is sooooo cute. I also went to the 7/11. I am so happy. Everything is sooo cheap. I also went to my first rotary club meeting. That was so confusing, OMG. Then I went on a train. I met a girl from Estonia, Puala, a boy from Taiwan, Kenny, a boy from Japan, Daiki, a girl from from Germany, Johanna, and from the US there is Zach from New York, Flora from New Hampshire, Kelly from Florida, and Alex from Minnesota. I had fun getting to know them. On the first day, We went on a tour to the emerald cave, and some islands. It is so hard to describe, and photos don't do it justice. We found Nemo and I got an anemone sting!! I have scars. yay!! hhaha Daiki stepped on a urchin too. The next day we learned so language. I know the word for lime. I feel soooo unprepared. We went to the beach everyday. It was so fun. I also went to the markets. When we got back we went shopping. I got some shoes and some longer shorts. I also got a new phone and some essentials for Janique and I.
My family is so sweet. My mom is P'Joy, and my dad is P'Prim. P'Nong is P'Prim's sister. A-ma is the grandma. We all live together. P'Ning lives on a chicken farm. She is P'Prim's other sister. I love them all so much. They are so kind to me. I admire A-ma so much. She has so much money, but she uses it wisly. she gives gifts to people and donates it to people and programs too. I have learned so much and  I have so much more to learn. And my blog decided to change everything to thai.

To my family, Please stop talking to me. I am feeling a little home sick, and I would like to stop that feeling. Another thing, if my blog post is late, that probably I couldn't finished it when I would have liked, or Eq typed for me. Trust me, I want to blog, but sometimes I have a life. hahaha. But seriously. Please do not bug me about writing a blog. Thank you.

Take off for Tomorrow

Tomorrow at some god awful time 3-ish I will be getting up and leaving my house for a year. I will see Ginger for the last time in a year. I will ride in my car for that last time in a year. I will see my parents for the last time in a year. It doesn't seem real.
I'm all packed, got my toothbrush, got my passport, got my clothes, said goodbye to friends, anything else to do? Oh ya, I forgot to eat,(should probably do that) take a bath(good idea) clean up around the house ect. I'm not sure if I'm stressed, or my brain grew legs and walked away.
I haven't left a lot of things for the last minute, but I feel like I have forgotten everything.
Now, enough of the sad depressing stuff. When I get to Bangkok, I will be traveling to my town and arrive there probably about 1:30. Later that morning I will be headed to my rotary meeting. After that I will be boarding a train to Phuket for an inbound camp, were I will learn culture, language, and names. After theses five days I will be attending my school. I am so excited to meet all these new people and see new faces. Wish me luck on a-total-of-20-hours flight(approximately).

16th

My Madre is so mean...she made me bake my own birthday cake! Thats what she says anyways. But she did the hardest part; the layering. The cake was a Texas Sheet cake, with raspberry black berry filling and butter cream coco frosting. I went to my grandma's place for the cake eating. She said it was wonderful.
The following day me Madre and I went to a friends house for dinner. Little did I know that there were two ice-cream cakes waiting for me. One was a reese's log cake, and the other a blue cookie dough cake. They were both yummy.

Thank you for the wonderful birthday!!
